IISc-DST/SAIF NMR Spectrometers (External users)
Submission of samples: Send the samples in an envelope (preferably in a cloth-lined) or cardboard box. The package should be addressed to "The Convener, SIF, IISc NMR Facility, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore - 560012".
Along with the sample, please send us the screenshot of the payment receipt and the "Request form" (link below) duly filled.
For solution-state NMR: Provide about 5 mg sample for proton NMR and 25 mg for other nuclei, preferably in a small vial. Do not dissolve your sample. We provide the solvent. Please mention if the samples are paramagnetic.
For solid-state NMR: Provide about 300 mg of sample as fine powder. Also make sure that your sample is non-magnetic. Solid-state 1H NMR facility is not available.
Request form:
Results are sent by email in 7 working days after receiving the samples. In case, results are required within 3 working days, additional 25% charges are applicable. Please mention the same in the request form. The charges are subsidised for academic and government / R&D users; hence the form should carry either an official seal or an accompanying request on an official letterhead.
The tables show the base cost, including GST. Additional cost for deuterated solvents for solution state NMR applies as mentioned below. Chloroform-d and D2O Rs. 100 per sample DMSO-d6 Rs. 300 per sample. There will be additional charges for advanced experiments and additional scans, as per requirements.
For 1D NMR of other nuclei and other advanced experiments, contact the Facility Manager Dr. P. Lokeswara Rao (lokeswara@iisc.ac.in)
